Thayer Wouldn't Rule Out Joining Bears As O-Line Coach
(WSCR) With Mike Tice taking over as offensive coordinator, the Bears must fill the role of offensive line coach.
One possible candidate for Tice's replacement could be Tom Thayer, who played guard for the Bears for eight seasons and won a Super Bowl in 1985. Thayer is currently the the Bears color commentator for WBBM Radio.
"To me, it would always be great to be part of the Bears winning a Super Bowl," Thayer told The McNeil and Spiegel Show. "It's hard to say.
"It's hard to say no to it just because I've invested my life in the Bears. I love being a part of the Bears. I love doing the Bears radio broadcasts, so I never want to wish myself out of anything I've been really enjoying."

Thayer did say, however, that his lack of coaching experience may be a hindrance.
"You know, if you don't have experience behind those doors, they don't consider you having experience, and that was just one of the weird things about it," Thayer said. "Experience comes when you pay your dues in the inner office avenue of football."
