Thayer: Bears Can Capitalize On Seahawks' Road Woes
(WBBM) Life can be difficult for a rookie quarterback on the road, and that's exactly how life has been for Seahawks rookie signal caller Russell Wilson.
Wilson and the Seahawks boast a 5-0 record at home, but that record pales in comparison to their 1-5 road record.
Couple the Seahawks' road struggles with Wilson's inexperience and on Bears expert thinks the scales weigh in favor of the Bears as they welcome the Seahawks to Soldier Field on Sunday.
"They're (a) different football team away from their home stadium," Former Bear Tom Thayer told WBBM Newradio's Josh Liss. "I think you have the opportunity to make a rookie quarterback look like a rookie quarterback. There's a lot of versatility, a lot of athleticism on the front seven of the Bears. Right now, that's where you may be healthiest, so it's attack, attack, attack. However, when you're attacking a young rookie quarterback that has such a good running back in Marshawn Lynch, you have to make sure that you have that heightened alert that (you need to) stop the running back on the way to the quarterback. The aggressiveness of the front seven will ultimately decide the fate of Seattle's offense."

The Bears are coming off a big win against the Vikings, but that win didn't come without a price. Five Bears starters left last Sunday's game with injuries, though Thayer expects two starters - Charles Tillman and Lance Briggs - to play against the Seahawks.
"Thosue two gys are professionals," Thayer said. "They're two of the most well-prepared guys on the team. Charles Tillman goes through a pre-game warm up routine like no other guy in the NFL. I really think the determination of their professionalism will push them to be on the field. ... It's a lot about mental toughness when it comes to Sunday morning and you're getting ready to play an NFL game."
