Teens Snatch Northwestern Student's Smart Phone On Porch
EVANSTON, Ill. (CBS) -- Northwestern University issued an alert over the weekend, after a student was robbed of his smart phone.
As WBBM Newsradio's Dave Marsett reports, the robbery happened around 1:20 a.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of Ridge Avenue in Evanston, while a Northwestern student was standing on his porch.

Police say four teenage boys approached and asked for directions. The student took out his smart phone and was going to use it to help them find their way.
But one of the teens walked up to the porch to look at the phone, and promptly grabbed it and ran off, police said.
The four teens were all thought to be around 16 or 17 and between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, the alert said. No further descriptions were available.
The block where the theft happened is located just west of the main Northwestern campus, and is largely taken up by the office building housing the university development and accounts payable departments. The Evanston Civic Center is located on the next block to the north.
