Teenage Boys Targeting Women In Southwest Side Robberies
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood are warning residents about two teenage boys who are targeting female victims for robbery.
Two women have been robbed in the past week in the Southwest Side neighborhood.
The first attack happened about Friday 2:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of South Spaulding Avenue, according to a community alert issued by police. Another happened two days later, about 7:35 p.m. in the 5100 block of South Kedzie Avenue.
In each case, the two teenage boys have approached and forcibly taken property from female victims, the alert said.
The robbers are described as Hispanic, between 16 and 18 years old, and roughly 120 pounds, the alert said. One stands about 4 feet 10 inches tall and the other stands 5 feet tall.
Police advise neighbors to be aware of their surroundings, and report any suspicious activity.
