Teen Shot In Head In Little Village
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 16-year-old boy sustained a gunshot wound to the head Wednesday in the Little Village neighborhood.
He was shot about 10:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of South Trumbull Avenue, said Chicago News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
The teen was walking when a male exited the passenger side of a van and fired several shots at the teen, striking him in the head, Greer said. The suspect then reentered the passenger side of the van and fled the scene.
The teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Greer said.
The shooting occurred less than a block away from Little Village Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Area Central is investigating.
