Teen Killed, 2 Others Wounded In Kane County Shooting
AURORA TOWNSHIP (CBS) -- One teenager was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting Monday night outside a home near west suburban Aurora.
Around 11 p.m. Monday, police responded to reports of shots fired at 400 S. Calhoun in unincorporated Kane County near Aurora, authorities said.
Kane County Sheriff's deputies and Aurora police officers found a teenager – Julius Garcia-Velzquez, 19 – lying in the driveway of the home at that address. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other teens – Juan Garibay, 18, of the Calhoun address; and Arturo Trejo, 16, of the 400 block of Bangs in Aurora – were wounded in the shooting. Both were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
No one was in custody for the shooting as of Tuesday morning. Kane County Sheriff's police were investigating.
