Teen Extradited From Georgia To Face Murder Charges
CHICAGO (STMW) -- An 18-year-old man was extradited from Georgia and charged with murder in connection with the January shooting death of a 19-year-old man on the Northwest Side.
Tramian Barnes, of Joliet, was charged with one count of first-degree murder for allegedly shooting and killing Alex Anderson as the two were driving in the Portage Park neighborhood on Jan. 20, authorities said.
Barnes was driving a vehicle in the 4300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue about 10:20 p.m. when he allegedly shot Anderson -- who was sitting in the passenger's seat -- in the abdomen and right arm, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Anderson got out of the vehicle and ran to his home in the 5000 block of West Cullom Avenue. He was later taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he died early Jan. 21.
Barnes is scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday.
