Teen Boy Fatally Shot On West Side

CHICAGO (STMW) - A teenage boy was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon on the West Side.

The boy -- identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as 17-year-old Davares Robinson -- was shot about 2:40 p.m. in the 700 block of South St. Louis Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

Robinson, of the 3400 block of West Flournoy St., was pronounced dead at 3:32 p.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital, the medical examiner's office said.

Police said the teen was shot in the abdomen area, and the medical examiner's office indicated he suffered multiple gunshot wounds. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
