Teenager Killed In Albany Park Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed early Sunday in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
Dante Mondragon was standing on the sidewalk about 1:20 a.m. in the 3700 block of West Lawrence Avenue when two male suspects approached and fired shots, police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.
He was shot in the upper back and was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:29 a.m., authorities said.
Police believe the attack was gang-related, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
