Teacher To Plead Guilty To Sexting With Students
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A former middle school teacher in Northwest Indiana accused of sexting with students is expected to change his plea to guilty tomorrow--and that isn't sitting well with at least one parent.
Ex-Teacher To Admit Sexting
Bryan Tyman, 45, has already pleaded not guilty to sex with one girl and not guilty to sexting other girls in his class.
His attorney Bryan Truitt says Tyman will plead guilty to sending the girls photos of his penis.
Truitt says Tyman never had sex with the girls.
He says the plea deal would mean six years of probation for Tyman.
"I think we're getting to a just result," Truitt said.
"No one can say he's getting off easy. He's lost his livelihood. He's been publicly humiliated. He's going to have to be monitored for 72 months."
But the father of one of the girls, Roy Peeler, says that's not enough.
"I believe Mr. Tyman should be in prison," Peeler said.
Peeler says Tyman preyed on his daughter.
He says he will be in court, hoping the judge will not approve the plea deal.
Tyman, 45, was teaching at Fegely Middle School in Portage, Ind., when the sexting occured.
