Taste Of Chicago Preview Coming To Daley Plaza
CHICAGO (CBS) -- If you go downtown at lunchtime Tuesday, be sure to pack your appetite.
At Daley Plaza, some samples will be available of what you can expect at the Taste of Chicago this year. The city will host a special mini-preview of the famed summer event.
Nine Taste vendors will be on hand. They include more traditional options, such as ribs from Robinson's No. 1 Ribs, and pizza slices from Connie's and Beggar's. But you'll also find less traditional items such as crab cake nuggets from Polo Café and Catering.
Also staking out on the plaza will be Adobo Grill, Chicago Sweet Connection Bakery, Lao Sze Chuan, Manny's Cafeteria and Delicatessen and Texas de Brazil. Drinks will be available, too.
Chow time is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and prices range from $2 to $3. The event is cash only.
And be warned, the blasts of heat in the plaza won't just be coming from the barbecue smoke. The forecast high temperature for the day is 97 degrees, with heat indices as high as 105.
As for the official Taste of Chicago, it runs from June 24 to July 2 in Grant Park.
