Tallon Grabs Another Ex-Blackhawk In Florida
(CBS) Florida Panthers general manager Dale Tallon continues to stockpile former players he had in Chicago when he held the same position with the Blackhawks.
Tallon traded for former Blackhawks forward Kris Versteeg Friday, sending a second and third round pick to the Philadelphia Flyers in the deal. After winning a Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 2010, Versteeg was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs, who then sent him to Philadelphia in February.
Versteeg is the fourth former Blackhawk Dale Tallon has acquired this year. He joins former teammates Jack Skille, Tomas Kopecky and Brian Campbell in Florida.
In other news involving former Blackhawks, forward Jake Dowell agreed to a one-year deal with the Dallas Stars Friday, reuniting him with Adam Burish, who he played with in Chicago and at the University of Wisconsin.
