Driver killed when SUV hits back of bus in Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A driver was killed Thursday morning when a sport-utility vehicle crashed into a Chicago Transit Authority bus in Grant Park.
At 9:34 a.m., a 34-year-old man was driving a Volkswagen SUV on Columbus Drive near Roosevelt Road when it hit the back of a CTA bus, police said.
The southbound No. J14 Jeffery Jump bus was serving the Columbus/Roosevelt stop when it was struck from behind, police said.
The driver of the Volkswagen died in the crash.
Three other people were injured, but are expected to recover.
The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
