Suspect Sought In Attempted Dorm Rape
CHICAGO (STMW) - Police are seeking a suspect who apparently tried to sexually assault a female student in her South Loop dorm room late last month.
The incident happened about 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 28 in a student dorm apartment on the 500 block of South State Street, according to a community alert issued by Belmont Area detectives.
The man told the victim he was looking for a friend when he attempted to sexually abuse her in her room, according to the alert.
A surveillance video captured an image of the suspect, who is described as a 19- or 20-year-old black man about 6 feet tall and 210 pounds, according to the alert. He has brown eyes, black hair worn in a short haircut, brown eyes, a dark complexion and a mustache.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing a diamond earring in his left ear, a leather bracelet with a wooden eagle on one wrist and a blue wristband on the other, along with a born knit cap with beige writing, black T-shirt, and black polo shirt, the alert said. He wore a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, black canvas jacket, dark jeans and white gym shoes and was also carrying a black backpack.
