Suspect Arrested, Squad Car Crashes In SW Side Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) - A suspect was arrested Friday night after allegedly shooting at a 43-year-old man on the Southwest Side, police said. A police car was involved in an accident during the arrest.

Three attackers were involved in the 10:30 p.m. attempted shooting in the 6500 block of South Mozart Street, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

Shots were fired at a 43-year-old man, who was not struck, Alfaro said.

Police took one person into custody, and a police car was involved in an accident during the arrest, police said. It was unknown early Saturday if anyone was injured in the crash.

Three weapons were recovered at the scene, Alfaro said.

Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
