Suspect Arrested For Robbing Same Bank 4 Times
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 57-year-old man has been charged with robbing a Loop bank in September and is suspected of robbing the same bank at least three other times since August.
David Gregory, of 7946 S. Normal Ave., was arrested by the FBI last week and charged with the Sept. 30 robbery of the Chicago Community Bank branch at 52 E. Lake St.
According to the criminal complaint against Gregory, he entered the bank around 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 30, handed the teller a note stating he had a gun and a bomb, and demanded money. The teller handed over $631 in cash and Gregory fled on foot.
Authorities recovered the demand note he left behind and the FBI lifted a fingerprint from the note, matching it to Gregory.
Although he has only been charged in the Sept. 30 robbery, the FBI suspects him of robbing the same bank branch on Aug. 12, Sept. 16 and Oct. 12.
Gregory appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Arlander Keys on Oct. 28 and was ordered held without bond until his next court appearance on Friday.
