Survey Says Chicagoans Will Spend Less During Holidays
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A new survey finds Chicagoans will be spending less on the holidays this year.
As WBBM Newsradio's David Roe reports, the report from Deloitte LLP, which is set to be released later Tuesday, finds that Chicagoans have too many other concerns – such as the economy, job security and increasing prices – to worry much about holiday shopping, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Even sales of gift cards, which have been the top gift item for the past seven years, have fallen, the Tribune reported.
The newspaper says consumers are seeking more "meaningful" gifts, and clothing is now beating out gift cards as the leading holiday purchase.
