Super Bowl Visitors May Have Been Exposed To Measles
(CBS) A person who attended Super Bowl festivities in Indianapolis last Friday has been diagnosed with measles, meaning a number of visitors may have been exposed to the virus, according to a WISH-TV report.
The Indiana Department of Health confirmed two cases of the measles, one in Boone County and the other in Hamilton County. The report says one of those two people attended Super Bowl Village last Friday, but did not attend the NFL Experience, which was indoors.
The Super Bowl Host Committee told WISH-TV that 200,000 people were at Super Bowl Village on Friday.
Measles is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by a virus. Symptoms include fever, runny nose, cough and a rash all over the body. It can be deadly, but most Americans receive a measles vaccination as a child.
