Sundance Fest To Hold Screening At Chicago's Music Box
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Sundance Film Festival will be making a stop in Chicago next year, with a screening at the celebrated Music Box Theatre in Lakeview.
The famed independent film festival is based in Park City, Utah, but for one night each winter, films are screened in nine other cities across the country, and filmmakers come to discuss their direct-to-festival films with audiences.
The Music Box, 3733 N. Southport Ave., will host a screening of just one film on Jan. 26. Theaters in Boston, Houston, San Francisco, and Brooklyn, N.Y., as well as the famous Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor, Mich., are also among those that will screen one film each.
Last year's Sundance engagement at the Music Box featured a screening of the movie "The Music Never Stopped," with a discussion by director Jim Kolhberg. In 2009, the theater screened the movie "Jack Goes Boating," and Philip Seymour Hoffman made a live appearance.
