An incredibly optimistic guy, Tyree is still awaiting several test results in order to proceed with a treatment plan--and is telling friends and co-workers he is prepared for the upcoming fight.
"I have the backing of some of the best doctors in the world and am prepared to fight this with the support of my family, my work family, and friends," he said.
The father of three, who also has had four eye surgeries and a defibrillator implanted in his chest, added: "I have not lost a health battle yet and I don't plan to start now!"
Last year, Tyree led a group of investors who purchased the Sun-Times Media newspaper and digital network.
