Successful Surgery for Peavy
Jake Peavy underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair a detached muscle in his right shoulder. By all reports the surgery was sucessful, but as known before the pitcher will miss the rest of this season. The surgery took place at Rush University Medical Center and in addition to there being a clean tear in the muscle there were no additional complciations. Peavy looks to be throwing again by February, just in time for spring training. The surgery took place a day before the Sox look to extend their half game lead over the Detroit Tigers. The Sox will depart on a road trip that includes 10 games in 11 days including a four game set in Minnesota before heading to Seattle and Oakland, each for three games.
