Suburban Woman's Jacket Nearly Ended Up On Saturday Night Live For Sarah Palin Skit
(CBS) -- What do Sarah Palin, a glitzy jacket, eBay and Saturday Night Live have in common? A Northbrook woman reached into her closet and found out.
Kim Nyren, who is related to a WBBM News staffer, bought the fancy jacket, by Milly, then realized it wasn't her style so she put it on eBay where it sat for a year with no takers. Then someone finally bought it, just as Sarah Palin wore the same jacket to endorse Donald Trump.

The jacket then became a hot commodity and was sold out everywhere. And "Saturday Night Live" contacted Nyren, desperate for the jacket for Tina Fey to where, impersonating Palin.
Nyren says "SNL" offered her a thousand dollars" and "they also asked if they could rent it or borrow it and actually have it autographed and shipped back to me in order to give it to my buyer...unfortunately the jacket was already in the mail."
So Nyren stuck with her original buyer.
"I think it went to a good home," Nyren says, "she seemed really excited about it."
And Tina Fey still got the laughs on "SNL" wearing a look-a-like jacket which the show's costume department ended up making.
