Suburban Man Found Dead, Police Chase Down Relative
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (WBBM) -- A 55-year-old Arlington Heights man is dead--and police say a family member is in custody after a car chase through the northwest suburbs.
The crime scene: a red-brick home in the 1000 block of North Wilshire in Arlington Heights.
A neighbor tells Newsradio 780's Steve Miller that a man lives there with his son - who's about 19 - and that a daughter has been in college in Alabama.
Arlington Heights Police say they were called to the home about 8:45 a.m. and found the body of the man.
Police say the person who called 911 told them a family member had left the home - speeding away in a tan Mercury Grand Marquis.
Police say the car was eventually stopped in East Dundee and the driver arrested.
The medical examiner's office is withholding identification of the victim - but says he was 55 years old.
The neighbor tells Newsradio 780 the man worked as a tool-maker.
He says the family has lived in the home for about 25 years.
No charges have been filed yet.
