Suburban Man Fatally Stabbed On Birthday
UPDATED Oct. 17, 2010 5:53 PM
CHICAGO (CBS) - A man was fatally stabbed on his 30th birthday overnight in the Far South Side's West Pullman neighborhood.
Nick Lamar Seay, of the 14200 block of South Marshfield Avenue in Dixmoor, was stabbed multiple times about 1:55 a.m. Sunday inside a residence at 54 W. 118th St., authorities said. Sunday was Seay's 30th birthday.
Seay was arguing with another man that he knew when the dispute became physical and the other male pulled a knife and stabbed Seay multiple times, police said.
Seay was pronounced dead at 2:55 a.m. Sunday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Seay and the suspect both have children with the same woman and they began arguing while the woman was not at the residence but at a hospital having another child, according to a law enforcement source.
As of Sunday afternoon the suspect was not in custody. Police said he fled on a bicycle.
"He is wanted right now,'' Calumet Area police Sgt. John Pellegrini said.
An autopsy on Sunday found that Seay was stabbed multiple times and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
A knife was not recovered, according to Pellegrini, who said no one else was hurt.
