Man Accused Of Beating Woman's Head Against Dryer
There was only one working clothes dryer at the Jellystone Campground in Kosciusko County, Indiana, and the sheriff's office says there was apparently a fight over who was using it.
Sheriff's Sgt. Chad Hill says a 24-year-old Indiana woman was critically injured , her head beaten against the dryer.
"She had received an injury to her temple area after he had forced her - struck her - against a dryer unit.
"Officers were able to locate the suspect at his campground site and he was arrested and preliminary charged with felony aggravated battery."
The man charged is 54-year-old Michael Patrick Zimny of Glenwood, Illinois, in southern Cook County.
Zimny's grandson doubts the allegations, saying his family member is a hard worker.
"I'm very upset that my grandpa's accused of something like that. He's not like that. I've grown up with him 19 years. I look up to the man," Gage Walters tells CBS 2's Brad Edwards.
He said the campground where police say the attack occurred is a retreat for the family.
"We go to the campground and relax. We get away from everything over here. That's our little piece of heaven," Walters says.
