Suburban Club Hockey Teams Raise Money For Mom Fighting Cancer
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (CBS) -- It was a hockey game with one goal in mind.
Valancee Avalos, a single mom of two, has been fighting breast cancer since last year.
The Oswego Hockey Club held a fundraiser for Avalos, asking for $1 per goal.
So when Oswego played Mid-Valley Rampage Hockey Club in Romeoville last night, both teams chipped in.
Oswego won 2-1, but everyone was a winner, as the teams raised $59 per goal.
