The Chicago Foundation for Women takes in donations and offers grants to groups that address causes women deem important. Foundation executive director K. Sujata speculated on why the study turned out the way it did, with women giving more money, and to more organizations than men.
"They see a number of issues that they want to impact," Sujata said. "I think they want to change so much in this world that they see needing change that I think they want to give to many different causes."
For her group, Sujata says giving is about the same or slightly lower than last year.
