Study: 80 Percent Satisified With Chicago Police Department
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Most people who've had dealings with the Chicago police department say it was a good experience.
Public Satisfied With Chicago Police
A cross-section of more than 4,000 people provided feedback, and more than 80 percent said they were "somewhat satisfied" or "very satisfied' with the men in blue.
That comes as no surprise to Pat Camden of the Fraternal Order Of Police.
"Chicago police are out there serving and protecting the public," he said. "That's something that is part of the culture of the police department."
Among African-Americans and Latinos, satisfaction with the police was lower--78 percent compared with 85 percent of whites.
On balance, Camden said, the results are something to be proud of.
"From the union side, the FOP side, I think this is the finest police department in the country."
