Students Busted With Four Loko At Basketball Game
RIVERSIDE, Ill. (STMW) - Two students were cited after apparently becoming drunk at a west suburban high school basketball game last week after drinking Four Loko.
Riverside police were called to Riverside Brookfield High School on two occasions on Friday night after two students consumed alcohol and became intoxicated, a release from police said.
Both students had consumed Four Loko, an energy drink that contains alcohol, police said..
Last November, the FDA issued a warning letter to Phusion Projects, a Chicago company, and three other manufacturers of caffeinated alcohol beverages citing that caffeine added to their malt alcoholic beverages was unsafe and that further action, including seizure of their products, could happen under federal law.
The students were cited about 8:20 p.m. that night, the release said.
