Stubborn Rain To Move Out, Chilly Wind To Blow In
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Are you sick and tired of the on-again, off-again rain that the Chicago area has been experiencing for the whole past week?
If so, you're in luck, because the rain system is leaving after Wednesday. But cold, gusty winds will be coming to take their place.
For most of the day Wednesday, the weather system that has been producing rain for the past seven days will remain, turning in a counterclockwise motion, but still hovering stubbornly.
CBS 2 Meteorologist Megan Glaros says an upper-level low-pressure system that has parked over the Chicago area and not moved for the past week is to blame for the seemingly endless rain.
But the system will finally move out later Wednesday, and sunshine with a high of 72 Thursday. But come Thursday night, a cold front comes in, cutting the high temperature to a mere 59 for Friday, and bringing wind that will gust into the 40s.
Temperatures will remain cool on Saturday, with a high of 58. Next week, highs return to the 60s.
