Stranded High School Choir Enjoys Chicago
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Eighty-two high school choir members from Albuquerque spent a day exploring Chicago and singing while they were stranded due to problems at Southwest Airlines.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's John Cody reports, the choir members at Eldorado High School in Albuquerque had been scheduled to fly home Sunday after a choral competition in Waukegan.

But Southwest Airlines equipment problems grounded them for two days, so they toured Chicago plying their choral craft under the Bean in Millennium Park. The space has good acoustics, said Sara Lovato.
"In the Bean thing, it echoes a lot, so I like it better; it sounds magical that way," Lovato said.
Eldorado High School Choir president Tyler Crowley found the Bean's mirror-like dome brought the choir together visually, as well as acoustically.
"It's really cool to able to be with these people; see them all; see them together under the Bean as a whole group just like, this is our group, and this is what we can do with our voices," Crowley said.
The crowd attracted by the concert broke out in applause after the performance.
Southwest picked up the hotel bill for the choir until the airline could produce a flight back to Albuquerque.
