Storms Knock Out Power To Thousands In Libertyville
LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. (CBS) -- A brief round of thunderstorms in the wee hours Wednesday knocked out power to thousands of customers in Libertyville.
ComEd says about 2,100 customers lost power in the northern suburb following the storms, which struck in the 3 a.m. hour.
In addition, downed power lines were reported at Morgan and Harrison streets just south of the Eisenhower Expressway, CBS 2's Derrick Young reported.
The thunderstorms left puddles and cooled temperatures down to the upper 70s in the early morning hours. But don't look for it to last.
The forecast high for Wednesday is 97 degrees, and CBS 2 Meteorologist Megan Glaros says temperatures could even exceed 100.
