Stone: Quentin 'In Line For A Good Year'
The 2011 Chicago White Sox season officially begins in Cleveland, and after all the big offseason moves, the team is set up to be a dangerous team in the AL Central. But one returning player could have the biggest impact.
"I think you're going to get a big year from Carlos [Quentin]," Steve Stone said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "What happens is, the first couple days of spring training, Carlos comes in, he's very loose, he's smiling, he's shaking everybody's hand, just happy the be there. There was the story about how much looser he was this year. Guess what? That ends about the fourth day, and then he goes back to being the regular Carlos.

"But the regular Carlos is pretty good. Don't forget, he was very intense in that year a couple years ago when he would have won the MVP. He's just one of those guys that's wrapped very tightly, he is intense. But he can get a lot of performance out of that. The thing is that he does tend to get nicked up with some injuries that are not his fault. Some are injuries of exuberance, he'll have to cut back a little bit on that. He plays awfully hard, and a lot of times that turns into little nagging things. But I think he's in line for a good year, I like the way he was swinging the bat in the spring."
