Stevenson Students Arranged Drug Deals Via Text Messages, Police Say
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police say two students at Stevenson High School are now facing charges after an investigation into alleged drug sales.
Lincolnshire Police Detective Adam Hyde says investigators recovered about 10 grams of marijuana.
Det. Hyde says one student's cell phone was searched, and he says text messages described the drug dealing.
"Text messages between students were going back and forth, arranging to buy drugs," Hyde said.
"The buy would be set up, and then later on the actual transaction would take place off school property."
Because of the small amount recovered, the students were charged with misdemeanor unlawful delivery of cannabis and conspiracy to deliver cannabis.
