3 Killed In Wrong Way Crash On Stevenson Expressway Near Cicero
CHICAGO (CBS)-- Three people were killed in a crash on the Stevenson Expressway at Cicero.
Illinois State Police confirmed a wrong-way driver caused the two-car crash around 12:30 a.m.
Three people were killed in the crash, including the female wrong-way driver, her passenger, and a man in the other vehicle.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office identified one of the victims as 54-year-old Khalid Jaber, of Oak Lawn. Jaber's family said the Oak Lawn man leaves behind five children. They called his death an earth-shattering loss.
Family identified another victim as 26-year-old Rella Norey-Byrd. Her husband, Ladarrel Byrd, said she was a passenger in one of the cars. She was makeup artist who lived in Sauk Village, and was a stepmother to his two children.
Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.
