State Trooper Involved In Muti-Vehicle Crashes
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A state trooper had to be cut out of the squad car Thursday after a serious multi-vehicle collision in west suburban Wheaton.
As WBBM Newsradio's Mike Krauser reports, the incident started on Geneva road in Glen Ellyn.
The trooper, according to a witness, rammed the back of a woman's car.
Her husband said she was almost pushed into on-coming traffic and then the trooper hit her car again.
She moved off the road and the trooper continued on into Wheaton hitting a number of other cars at Geneva road and Gary Avenue.
The man, who spoke to WBBM Newsradio from the hospital, said his wife was told by a Glen Ellyn police officer that the trooper had some kind of medical emergency.
A fire department source said it is believed that the trooper had a medical emergency, which caused the crashes.
