State Responders On Guard For 9/11 Anniversary
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CBS) -- It won't be just another Sunday for people who are charged protecting others.
As WBBM Newsradio's Dave Dahl reports, anniversaries mean news, and nobody knows that better than Illinois Emergency Management Agency director Jonathon Monken.

"It's something that we're taking very seriously," Monken said. "We want to make sure that we're in a ready posture in case something does happen. I think that's something that the public would want us to be able to do – to know that we're ready for anything that could happen at that time. But it's a big anniversary. The 10th anniversary of September 11 should not be underestimated."
Monken says the lessons of 9/11 resonate. He reminds us not only can Chicago be an obvious target, but someone recently tried to blow up the federal building in Springfield.
