State Demands Detailed Plans From Dairy
NORA, Ill. (WBBM) -- Opponents of a proposed giant dairy in northwest Illinois have won a victory.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's David Roe reports, state regulators with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and Attorney General's office are requiring the owners of the proposed Tradition Dairy to submit more detailed plans on how they would prevent massive amounts of animal waste from polluting the water.

The Chicago Tribune reports the dairy, proposed by California dairyman A.J. Bos, would be the largest in the state with 5,500 head of cattle.
The facility is already partially built, about 30 miles east of Galena.
