Stanley Cup 2013: Thousands Of Fans Fill Streets Of Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Thousands of jubilant fans poured out onto the streets of Chicago to celebrate the Blachawks second Stanley Cup in four years.
Fans spilled out of the bars in Wrigleyville and filled several blocks of Clark Street outside Wrigley Field.
Several fans were seen with replica Stanley Cups dancing along Clark Street.
From Chopper 2, the street seemed to be a sea of red Blackhawks sweaters and shirts.
A heavy police presence was deployed to the area, including officers on horseback to keep order.
For the most part, the crowds were peaceful, but there were some rowdy fans, including a few who used a crowd barrier to carry one fan through the crowd. One of those people was led directly to police who put that person under arrest.
Later, police officers in riot gear responded to the intersection of Addison Street and Southport Avenue around 1:15 a.m., after a crowd of fans started throwing glass bottles at police vehicles. Several people in the crowd climbed on top of traffic poles, cars, bus shelters, and a flatbed truck; while others threw bottles and trash in the streets.
The crowd was mostly dispersed by about 1:40 a.m.
Windows were shattered at several businesses in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, along Clark Street.
Police said 23 people were arrested during the massive celebration in Lakeview, mostly for reckless conduct, disorderly conduct and battery. Police also handed out 21 tickets for drinking in public, littering, and public urination.
The Chicago Fire Department said two people were treated for injuries.
While Chicago won the title once again on the road, fans also flocked to United Center to start an impromptu party.
Within minutes of the victory, fans were also streaming to stores like the Sports Authority to plunk down $24 for official Stanley Cup championship t-shirts.
