Stan Van Gundy Confirms Dwight Howard Asked For His Firing
(WSCR) Things got a little awkward in Orlando Thursday when Dwight Howard denied a report claiming he asked for Stan Van Gundy to be fired, even though his head coach had just confirmed it moments earlier.
Van Gundy told reporters that upper management confirmed to him that Howard had indeed asked for him to be fired. A few minutes later, Howard interrupted the media session by putting an arm around his head coach acting as if nothing was wrong. Van Gundy then slipped out of the circle of reporters and Howard went on to deny the report, not realizing his coach had just said it was true.
The rest was just embarrassing for Howard.
