Stalberg: Hawks Can 'Go All The Way'

(WSCR) It's been an up-and-down season for the Blackhawks, but that's not changing the mindset of one player.

Viktor Stalberg joined The Mully and Hanley Show on Tuesday and said he believes the Blackhawks have what it takes to win a second Stanley Cup championship.

"I think we can go all the way," Stalberg said. "That's what we want to do. There are small margins in the playoff series, so we'll see what happens, but I think, as a group, we're confident this team can get it done. The way we have been playing lately - except for one or two games - has been pretty solid, playoff-type games, playing the way we need to if we're going to be successful in the playoffs.

Since the Blackhawks' nine-game losing streak earlier in the season, the team has rebounded. Stalberg said the losing streak ultimately taught the team how to overcome adversity.

"It's tough sometimes," Stalberg said. "When you go through a losing streak, not only is your work affected, but even off the rink, you're not eager to do things or be seen out. That's tough sometimes. ... It's been a good year, though. If you take that losing streak away, I think we've been playing pretty consistently. I think after the losing streak we definitely cleaned some things up in terms of defensive coverages and things like that. We're a better team for going through it, but it's certainly something you don't want to be a part of."
