St. Charles School District Wants Police Officers In Exchange For Land
ST. CHARLES, Ill. (CBS) -- A St. Charles school district found an interesting way to pay for police security guards in two of its high schools.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Nancy Harty reports, District 303 would give its Little Woods Facility to the City of St. Charles, in exchange for the city paying for police officers to work in its two high schools for eight years.

The Daily Herald reports the district has looked into closing Little Woods, which has housed special education staff, to save money.
The newspaper says the city is planning to use the two-acre site for a new water tower.
The city and school board must sign off on the deal. That is expected to happen in mid-August, the Daily Herald reported.
