Sox Went After Prince Fielder Before Dunn
According to mlb.com, the White Sox and Brewers shared thoughts on Prince Fielder coming to Chicago before signing Adam Dunn.
That never happened. Thursday evening, Dunn signed a four year, $56 million contract with the White Sox and the talks about Prince Fielder never progressed. The Brewers general manager Doug Melvin downplayed the idea that this move might have hurt their chances to move Fielder for a starting pitcher Thursday.
Melvin said ""Does it hurt us? No, not if there wasn't a deal to be done." He stated that they weren't close to making a deal and that teams aren't trading pitchers right now.
