McKnight: Sox Get Back On Track

CHICAGO (WSCR) Mark Buehrle finally put the Sox back into the win column by recording his 150th career victory in a 6-2 win over the Orioles Monday night. Buehrle, who went 6.2 scoreless innings, gave up eight hits and four walks but pitched out of trouble when he needed to. The Sox defense stood up and turned a pair of double plays while Juan Pierre bailed out his starter in the fourth with a sliding catch that ended the inning with two men on.
I don't know if it's a good or bad thing," Buehrle joked of reaching win No. 150. "Good—obviously I've been around the league long enough. It's bad because I'm older. Everybody's joking around saying 10 and a half or 11 more years to get to 300. I don't think that's going to happen.
Paul Konerko notched his 29th multi-homer game with a solo-shot in the fourth and a two-run blast in the eighth. Alex Rios' bat seemed to wake up out of it's .155 average coming into the game. Rios was 2-4 with a homer.
Chris Sale entered the ninth for the Sox with a six-run lead and looked strong to start. Sale recorded a strike out and ground out in his first two batters but after hitting Nick Markakis, Derrek Lee crushed a two-run homer.
Sale, who seemed shaken, then gave up a single to Vladimir Guerrero and that was the end of the rookie's night.
Manager Ozzie Guillen then turned to Sergio Santos to bail out the team and the righty obliged. Santos struck out Adam Jones for his third save of the year.
Tomorrow, the Sox face the Twins and Francisco Liriano. Liriano has given the Sox fits in the past but so far this season is 1-4 with a 9.13 ERA.
