Sox game canceled, Thorntion activation among three roster moves
The White Sox won't be doing too much on the field tonight. Their game against the Boston Red Sox has been postponed due to Hurricane Earl. However, there's been plenty of roster activity today. The Sox have activated Matt Thornton from the DL and brought up Brent Morel from Triple-A Charlotte.
In addition to those moves, Erick Threets was transferred from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL.
The 23-year old Morel is hitting a combined .322 with 10 HRs and 64 RBI after spending time in Double-A Birmingham and Charlotte. The No. 4 prospect in the White Sox organization, according to Baseball America, has no major league experience.
