Sox' Adam Dunn Out After Appendectomy
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (CBS) -- Less than a week after leading the White Sox to victory in their season opener, slugger Adam Dunn is out for an emergency appendectomy.
The White Sox confirmed Wednesday morning that Dunn underwent the laparoscopic procedure Tuesday night. He will go home with the team after they play the Kansas City Royals Wednesday afternoon, and will miss up to five games, the team said.
Dunn and the White Sox lost 7-6 to the Royals Tuesday night.
On Friday of last week, Dunn hit a two-run homer in his second at-bat of the season, as the Sox beat the Cleveland Indians.
