South Suburban Officer Fired Over Brutality Allegations
(CBS) -- A south-suburban police officer has been fired for his alleged mistreatment of a prisoner.
It's a case first exposed by 2 Investigator Pam Zekman and the Better Government Association. Lynwood Police Sgt. Brandin Fredericksen was fired after a village disciplinary hearing.
The officer was caught on surveillance video shoving a detained suspect into a door and onto the ground and allegedly hit him while he was handcuffed.
A lawyer for Fredericksen says they will appeal the ruling.
