South Suburban Firefighters Battle Repair Shop Fire
KANKAKEE, Ill. (STMW) - Firefighters in far south suburban Kankakee are battling a two-alarm fire Tuesday night.
A Kankakee police and fire departments dispatcher said the fire department remained on the scene of the fire at 9 p.m.
The fire started about 8 p.m. at a commercial building at 1905 E. Court St. in Kankakee, according to unconfirmed dispatch reports. The fire at an automotive repair shop and a connected bowling alley was elevated to a two-alarm blaze.
The dispatcher could not provide further information at 9 p.m. and said nobody else was available to comment.
