South Side Fire Sends At Least One To Hospital
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A woman was hospitalized after she jumped out of a third floor window when a fire erupted inside a home in the Englewood neighborhood on Monday night.
The woman was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County after out of the burning building in the 5900 block of South Peoria Street, according to Fire Media Affairs.
The woman's age and condition were not immediately known, but officials said she was conscious and alert before being transported.
The fire displaced five adults and eight children, Fire Media Affairs said, adding that firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze about 11:30 p.m.
