Most South Shore Service Suspended After Derailment

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Service has been suspended on the South Shore train line in Northwest Indiana due to a derailment in Michigan City.
South Shore officials expect the derailment to affect the balance of the rush hour on Monday.
South Shore trains scheduled to arrive in Chicago after 6:40 a.m. have been temporarily suspended. South Shore is efforting to provide limited unscheduled service between East Chicago and Chicago using two trains unaffected by the derailment.
Riders should expect limited seating and crowded conditions.
There are no injuries but service is affected, according to a bulletin on the South Shore website.
Metra Electric will honor South Shore tickets.
